Caderas Latinas is Singapore Management University’s premium Salsa team. Since its humble beginnings in 2004,Caderas Latinas has grown in both size and reputation, regionally as well as internationally by continually ensuring high standards of performance in it’s annual productions – Bailamos and SMU Salsa Festival.

Though predominantly a Salsa performance team, Caderas Latinas reaches out to the tertiaries and salsa community by hosting social dancing events such as Una Noche Solamente (UNS) as well as by taking part in competitions such as the Inter-Tertiary Salsa Competition organised by NTU and overseas competitions such as the Italia Grand Prix 2012 and the Europe Dance Grand Prix 2014. Caderas Latinas strives to maintain excellence in the quality of its performances and essentially aims to build the salsa community in Singapore.

SIM Salsa En Soul is a Latin Street Dance club from Singapore Institute of Management. Since its inception in 2007, SIM Salsa En Soul has grown from strength to strength, successfully grooming versatile dancers, and performing at multiple prestigious events such as Singapore International Salsa Festival and Boracay Latin Dance Festival 2013, and recently performed at Singapore Latin Extravaganza 2014. Under the guidance of resident choreographer, Jared Koh, SIM Salsa En Soul strives towards sharing the love of dance with the worl, and performing alongside fellow like-minded Salseros on the international stage.

NUS Salsa was established in 2011 and is under the Cultural Activities Club (CAC) in NUS. Annually, NUS Salsa participates in a series of internal events in NUS such as CAC+US, a concert held over 2 consecutive days which showcases all the performing arts groups under CAC.

NUS Salsa is also involved in external events such as Bailamos, the annual production organised by SMU involving salsa clubs of all Singapore universities. In 2013, NUS Salsa clinched 2nd place in the Inter-Tertiary Salsa Competition (Open-Category), held yearly by NTU. 2014 was an exciting year for this club as it organised its first major salsa event, the Singapore Inter-tertiary Jack & Jill Competition. This successful event was the first ever social dancing competition at tertiary level in Singapore.

Since 2013, NUS Salsa has been training under Derrick Lye and Christina Pan from Mosaic Dance Company. Under their lead, dynamicity in NUS Salsa’s dancers have been developed as they explore different styles of salsa, various genres of Latin dance such as bachata and cha cha cha, and also venture into other forms of dances. The growth of this young salsa club is evident as in their most recent choreography showcased at Bailamos X: 2014.

NTU Salsa En Sync came into existence in 2006 with Mr Gary Foo, Artistic Director from International renowned En Motion Dance School as their instructor to introduce the fun, sensual and sexy dance to the students of NTU. Ever since its humble beginnings, Salsa En Sync has received much applause in many school, commercial, national, and international level performances & competitions.

The club, besides offering basic Salsa Dance Classes, also offer aspiring dancers a chance to shine on stage by joining the En Sync Performance Team through our annual Dance Audition.The performance team will receive direct professional dance training from Mr Gary Foo, which covers not only Salsa dancing, but also dance forms like Brazilian Samba, Afro-Contemporary, Bachata, Reggaeton, Street Cha Cha & many other street latin dances. The team also gets the chance to receive training from Overseas Renowned World Champion Instructors on special projects and travel for overseas performances!

Besides performing, the club is also actively involved in International and National Level dance competitions and is also the proud organiser of Inter-Tertiary Salsa Competition (ITSC) since 2010, which sees the best dancers from all local universities and institutions pitting against each other in dashing style!

- Achieved 2nd Runner-Up for Amatuer Category and Champion & 1st Runner-Up for Open Category in the Inter-Tertiary Salsa Competition 2011
- Achieved 2nd Runner-Up for Amateur Category in the Inter-Tertiary Salsa Competition 2013
- Achieved International award by placing Champion in Asia Bachata Championship 2013
